Nature Detective in the Forest
For ages 8 – 11 Date: Thursday, July 21st, 2011
From 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

In this one-day camp, spend the day with a ranger, using detective skills to get to know forest creatures and their habitats. Participants will go on a forest scavenger hunt, conduct an FSI (Forest Scene Investigation), use clues to identify trees, birds, and reptiles, follow tracks, and play games.

Everyone takes home nature detective tools, including a bug jar/magnifier (without the bug), a pine cone birdfeeder, and a Nature Detective T-shirt (each participant will receive one T-shirt per summer)! Everyone has fun while finding out why forests are fantastic!

Bring: lunch and a drink. Meet at Park Center.
Completed registration form and pre-payment required.
Limit 16 participants (please call or email to see if spaces are left). Fee: $32.

Nature Detective in the Creek
For ages 8 – 11 Date: Tuesday, July 19 (the July 28 camp is already full)
From 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

In this one-day camp, spend the day with a ranger, using detective skills to get to know creek creatures and their habitats. Participants will get in the creek to do a CSI (Creek Scene Investigation), look closely for clues left by the park's beavers, play games, and go on a creek creature scavenger hunt.

Everyone takes home nature detective tools, including a collecting container with net, and a Nature Detective T-shirt (one T-shirt per person per summer)!
Everyone has fun while discovering what's cool about creeks!

Bring: lunch, drink, and shoes that can get wet. Meet at Park Center.
