2nd Annual Polar Plunge at Paris Mountain
Need a memorable way to start off the New Year?
How about the 2nd Annual Paris Mountain Polar Plunge. There's nothing quite like taking a quick dip in bracingly cold water to cleanse you of your New Years eve indiscretions.
Time: 1:12pm on 1/1/12 (Plungers will start lining up at the water at 1pm though several are planning a warm up trail run beforehand) Where: Lake Placid in Paris Mountain State Park
This family-friendly event raises money for the Friends of Paris Mountain State Park, which supports new trail building and educational programs in the park. Entry fees range from $10 for kids (no T-shirt) all the way to $25 for adults. A full price entry gets you a nice dry Polar Plunge T-shirt to enjoy along with a hot beverage and a tasty Krispy Kreme doughnut.
There will be great prizes and giveaways. Prizes will be given away for best costume in several different categories: Men, Women, Boys, Girls, Team.
Last year we had over 40 plungers and we hope to double that this year. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yq6NYgZblWA
